Bio: Emmanuel Witzhum holds a Master's degree from The Hebrew University Jerusalem in Culture Studies and a Bachelor's degree from The Manhattan School of Music in NYC. Emmanuel is the founder artistic director of The Lab, the Center for Performing Arts in Jerusalem. He has worked on numerous acoustic, electronic and video works. Since 2010, he lectures at the Sapir College teaching cultural and arts management.
Artist Statement: I am a cultural entrepreneur as artist, curator, lecturer and project manager with a strong international emphasis. I am passionate about connecting between technology and the arts, developing platforms and interfaces to afford cross cultural dialogue in multiple fields and connecting creativity and entrepreneurship. I am a strong believer in the arts transformation from product to platform and of the artist from creator to enabler. I have created projects and works presented in the USA, Europe, Asia and Israel and worked with a diverse set of partners from Google Israel to international festivals and institutions and start-ups. I have been a lecturer for 3 years with my main fields of research and teaching being arts management, artistic direction and curation in the era of web 2.0 & cultural theory.
